IS THE COLOR OF YOUR CARPET BLEEDING – LET US EXAMINE THE POSSIBLE CAUSES BEHIND IT

Carpets occupy a large space in every home. They are spread on the floor to enhance the beauty of floor and room, as well as, sometimes, to hide any flaws of the floor. Carpet cleaning forms an essential part of the cleaning process of home to ensure their longevity as well as to make sure that home is free from any microorganisms that form a part of carpet with its usage over a long period of time. Other than cleaning of carpet, another issue that people have faced is the discoloration of carpet.

There can be various factors that contribute to loss of color of the carpet. These are mentioned below:
The absence of proper lighting: there are many homes where carpets are spread on the floor of a room in which there is no entrance of proper light. With the lack of natural light in the room, the carpets are exposed to moisture. The color of the carpet turns yellow because of it.

Heavy traffic: there can be a room where the carpet is placed and it is a place where feet keep running over again and again. With the consistent walking over the carpet, dust keeps coming and even the top layer of the carpet withers out. As a result, the natural color of the carpet is lost and it starts appearing grey in color.
Overexposure to light: there are some carpets that are under excessive light. There is constant light falling on them throughout the daytime. The overexposure of light to the carpet makes it lose its natural color and the color of the carpet fades away over a period of time.
Furniture: furniture can also account for the color loss in carpets as the carpet which is under or near the furniture seems to go through color fading than the one which is away from furniture. It can be due to dust of the furniture of the fall of some wooden particles from furniture that result in loss of color carpet.

Sliding doors and windows: the carpets can be placed in a room where the windows and doors are opened time and again. Due to this, there is no restriction on the amount of light and dust falling on carpets which leads to discoloration of the carpet.

Use of sprays and moisturizers: if the carpet of the bedroom or dressing room is losing its color, it is because of the use of sprays that fall on the carpet too and the carpets lose their color due to the chemical sprays as they can form a chemical reaction making the carpet change its color. The same is done by moisturizers and creams. While applying the lotions on the face or body, they fall on the carpet. Again, a chemical reaction takes place which leads to discoloration of carpets.

All in all, the usage of carpets in homes exposes them to various chemicals and other particles that leads to discoloration of carpets.
