Get the fundamentals clear

Before gaining knowledge on any subject, it is significant to get the fundamentals clear. Carpet cleaning also has its set of fundamentals. The first one says that never ever try to remove the stains by scrubbing them. Doing so will land the stains deeper and deeper till they settle at the base. Instead, blot it out and work your way from the outside in. Rinse the stain and repeat the steps if the stain has not gone. In case you need more specific information, try our guidelines given according to the stains. We have classified the stains according to their solubility. We have to devise our stain removal plan according to the solubility status of the stain.

  1. Water and vinegar solution

Water-soluble stains are the easiest to handle and remove. Some of them are alcoholic beverages, colas, food dyes, berries, ice cream, excrement, milk, washable ink, gravy, jelly, mud and wet or latex paint. For such stains, use a solution of non-bleach detergent or white vinegar with water. Mix 1/4 teaspoon of the former and 32 ounces of the latter to form a solution. This will be effective in removing the stains.

  1. Ammonia and water solution

Some stains like blood, coffee, vomit, chocolate, and mustard will be removed after we use a special solution. Wine and tea stains could also be removed from this solution. Mix  1 tablespoon of ammonia in with 1 cup of water. Use this solution to remove the above-mentioned stains. If the stains still don’t go with this solution, another stronger solution can be tried.

  1. Bleach and water solution

Mix one part chlorine bleach with five parts water and use it to remove the stains. But be careful while using this solution. It should be used only on carpets with solution dyes as the bleach in the solution will harm the other types. Get in touch with the manufacturer if you are unsure of your carpet’s type. Polypropylene carpets can be cleaned with this type of solution.

  1. Paper Towels

They are ideal for removing wax, fat, or oil. Just put a paper towel on the carpet and run a warm iron over it. The particles are most likely to come off and stick to the paper towel due to the heat.

  1. Knife

A dull knife can be used to scrub off a cigarette burn. Take a blunt knife with a hard and flat surface.

  1. Alcohol

Alcohol is perfect for removing glue stains. Moisten a cotton ball with alcohol and press on the glue spot. The dry glue will become moistened and it will be easy to wipe it off. Repeat the steps if it doesn’t work the first time. Similarly, you can use nail polish remover to blot out a nail paint. Urine can be eliminated with white towels followed by blotting with a damp cool cloth.
